Dear Christian Believers,
Greetings and God bless you in the powerful name of Jesus Christ.
I'm presently reading and studying records of "Miracles"
that happened in the Bible. Wayne and I are preparing to teach on
the holy spirit manifestations of, "Faith, Working of Miracles,
and Gifts of Healing", There are many Miracles of instant
healing in the Word of God, but there are also many records of Miracles
that do not have anything to do with healing. Wayne in his search
for the an idea of how many of miracles are in the Bible came up
with 162 miracles in the Old Testament and 86 in the New Testament
for a total of 248. Of 162 in the Old Testament Miracles, 78 were
not associated with "gifts of healing" and of the 86 in
the New Testament there were 14 not associated with healing. The
numbers my vary from book to book on this subject, however one thing
is for sure, God does not lack in the "Miracles" category.
After Moses had died God called upon Joshua to rise up and take
Israel over the river Jordan and to possess the land that GOD had
promised to the fathers of Israel.
Joshua 1:2
Moses My servant is dead; Now therefore arise, go over this Jordan,
thou and ALL this people unto the land which I do give to them,
even unto the children of Israel.
That was the revelation God
gave to Joshua. NOW Joshua must decide to either act on what GOD
had told him to do, or he could rationalize and try to explain away
the revelation of GOD and why he should not be obedient to it. He
could have said, "I'm no Moses; these people won't follow me; besides
the River Jordan is at harvest flood stage, how am suppose to get
these 2 1/2 million people across this river; this jobs too big
for me." You know something, Joshua would have been right, this
job is too big for him, but so are many jobs God gives us to do.
If we look at our own selves, our short comings, our lack or weaknesses,
we'd quit before we start. GOD never gives us a job that we cannot
do. HE will provide or has provided us with ALL that we need. GOD
promised Joshua that HE would be with him, never fail nor forsake
him.
Joshua 1:5
There shall not any man be able to stand before thee all the days
of thy life; as I was with Moses, so shall I be with thee: I will
not fail thee, nor forsake thee.
Again Joshua had to decide in
his heart and mind to believe GOD'S revelation and exhortation.
Joshua chose to believe GOD and DO everything he was asked to do.
Joshua was obedient to GOD's commands and GOD parted the River Jordan,
HE stopped the flow of the water from the Dead Sea, and HE stopped
the waters coming down from the Sea of Galilee, and the waters were
heaped up on both ends of the Jordan. This path was huge, because
all of Israel crossed except for the women and children of the tribes
of Reuben, Gad, and half the tribe of Mannaseh. Also Israel had
to keep a space of about 3,000 feet away from the priests and the
Ark. The scripture says that as the soles of the feet of priests
touched the water's edge it receded and they and Israel walked across
on dry ground. This was the first Miracle of Joshua with another
soon to follow. GOD has given us HIS revelation in a book called
the Holy Bible. He has given us commands and exhortations to cross
our obstacles and claim the promises that are ours. We must learn
to trust GOD and be obedient unto HIS Word. Let's take action on
what HE has asked us to do, like Joshua did. You need a "miracle?"
GOD is still in the miracle business. GOD is ready, willing, and
able. Are we ready, willing, and able to believe that our GOD is
with us, as He was with Joshua, and that HE will not fail us nor
forsake us?
Love
John
