Under
His wings you shall take refuge;
His truth shall be your shield and buckler.
You shall not be afraid of the terror by night,
nor of the arrow that flies by day. —Psalm 91:4-5
To all of the Ambassadors for
Jesus Christ,
I pray God is blessing you every day and
working with you in big ways. Especially now, with so
much going on in the world that needs God’s touch. There’s
a sweet song they play this time of year that reminds
me of today’s challenges, and our role. It goes,
Let
there be peace on earth,
and let it begin with me.
There are wars being
fought on many fronts today, and people are afraid. They’re
angry. People in the Netherlands are in shock since a
popular political critic was brutally murdered by a radical
Muslim. Since then mosques and churches have been burned
in protest. Even there, where tolerance is the greatest
of virtues, people are taking sides. I was told that people
over there don’t want to hear any more religion, because
it’s all these irrational religious people who are causing
all the problems. How ironic that people would turn away
from God at a time they need most! It’s times like these,
when everyone wants peace but no one knows where to go
that Christians need to rise up and take care of people.
We can take care of
people because God takes care of us. I started this page
with an excerpt from Psalm 91, and I encourage you to
read the whole thing. God absolutely can and will protect
us, and with that firmly in mind we can face anything
with confidence. There’s nothing you must face today that
you and God can’t handle together!
Peace begins with us, and it begins in our
homes. If you see problems at home, YOU act to correct
them. If you see problems in your neighborhood, YOU act
to correct them. If you see problems in your city, YOU
act to correct them. Always humbly, always with love,
take the initiative to make your world more peaceful.
Pray with people every chance you get. Pray with your
family, pray alone, pray often and pray hard. God tells
us to pray for our leaders (I Tim 2:1-2) so we can have
peaceful lives.
Psalm 27:1,3
The LORD is my light and my salvation; Whom shall I
fear?
The LORD is the strength of my life, Of whom shall I
be afraid?
3 Though an army may encamp
against me, my heart shall not fear, though war may
rise against me, in this I will be confident.
Blessed are the peacemakers,
for they shall be called sons of God. (Mat!. 5:9)
May the peace of God which passes all understanding
guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus,
Hannah
