Scripture of the Week

Isaiah 49:15-16
Can a woman forget her sucking child, that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb? yea, they may forget, yet will I not forget thee.
16 Behold, I have graven thee upon the palms of my hands; thy walls are continually before me.

Lord prepare me to be a sanctuary
Pure and holy, tried and true.
With thanksgiving,
I'll be a living sanctuary for you.
(Song by John Thompson and Randy Scruggs 1982)

Psalm 139 is my sister's favorite Psalm, and it is quickly becoming one of mine. I got to share it with with a friend this weekend, and I also want to share a part of it with you. In this sweet song, King David is talking to God, recognizing the Lord's constant presence in his life.

“Where can I go from Your Spirit? Or where can I flee from Your presence?
8 If I ascend into heaven, You are there; If I make my bed in hell, behold, You are there.
9 If I take the wings of the morning, And dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea,
10 Even there Your hand shall lead me, And Your right hand shall hold me.
11 If I say, "Surely the darkness shall fall on me," Even the night shall be light about me;
12 Indeed, the darkness shall not hide from You, But the night shines as the day;”
are many mansions! He also said that he will come for us soon to bring us home with him. Only God knows the exact day. But Jesus is coming. And we are told to be patient for him.

James 5:7 says, "Therefore be patient, brethren, until the coming of the Lord. See how the farmer waits for the precious fruit of the earth, waiting patiently for it until it receives the early and latter rain. You also be patient. Establish your hearts, for for the coming of the Lord is at hand... My brethren, take the prophets, who spoke in the name of the Lord, as an example of suffering and patience. Indeed we count them blessed who endure. You have heard of the perseverance of Job and seen the end intended by the Lord - that the Lord is very compassionate and merciful."

In the bible, the word "patient" or
I want you to know that no matter how dark your surroundings, where YOU are it will be like DAY, because God's spiritual light is shining right there with you and in you. Psalm 23 says "though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me." Even though it looks like death all around us, we don't have to
be afraid, because God is with us. God is with YOU, Right now.
"patience" has different meanings, but we always see it is a good thing to patience. We patiently wait for the Lord Jesus Christ to return, and and we must be patient in other areas of our lives as well. ames 1:3 promises us that we learn patience through trials in life. This is a wonderful thing, because he goes on to say that
we should "let patience have it'sperfect work, that you may be perfect and complete lacking nothing ."
Look again in verse 10. It says, "Your hand shall lead me, and your right hand shall hold me." Have you ever wondered why people always shake their right hands when they greet each other? The right hand is very special in the bible - it is the hand of blessing. So here when it says, "Your right hand shall hold me," that means we are being both protected and supported in a place of blessings. Isn't that awesome? The blessing is this; no matter where you are, you know this world is not your home. Your real home is in heaven - a perfect place place full of light and ruled by love. Your home is a place where there is no crying or pain. Jesus is preparing this place for us - he said there     Lacking nothing. Wow. Now, the Bible says we are already complete. We are completely healed, completely forgiven, and completely equiped for all the work God needs us to do. But wait a minute - I definitly have days where I feel like I am MISSING something. But the Bible says that when I choose to be patient, I will lack nothing. Now, were kids, "Youths," Younguns. This patience thing is extremely revelant to our lives right now. We're not grown up yet! There are some things that we just can't legally DO, like rive. There are some things we're not ready for, like marriage. There are some things we are still learning, like how ti dicipline our minds and bodies. But let patience have it's perfect work my brothers and sisters. God is with you, and He is ready to teach you so much more.

God bless you and your family this Christmas with all spiritual blessings and all kinds of love! I am so thankful to be a part of such a big, awesome family - to be a part of you!
