Pssssssst.
Hey — you. Loser. Yeah, I’m talking to you.
Did someone beat you with an ugly stick, or is that
just your face?
You‘re a failure. Can‘t you do anything right?
You‘re so pathetic. Stupid Just plain stupid
Look, you aren‘t important, and you never will be.
Just shut up.

Ouch.
You know, if you hear something long enough
you start to believe it? Even if it’s a lie. I realized
last weekend that I had been believing one of those lies
about myself. Two ministers came to Florida to teach on
healing, and they took some time for us to get ministered
to, first for physical pains, then for our heart-hurts.
We closed our eyes and one of them prayed that God would
show us those past hurts. those lies that now affect how
we live. He prayed that God would show us the first time
we felt that way, the first time we believed the lie.
I found myself crying, and it surprised me. Then he prayed
that God would heal those hurts right there where they
started. And God did heal me. He told me what I needed
to hear, and now I know the Devil can’t trick me with
that one again. I am not a failure. God says I am more
than a conqueror! That’s the truth.
God tells us in Romans 12:2:
Romans 12:2:
And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed
by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what
is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.
And II Corinthians.
10:5 says:
II Corinthians. 10:5
We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets
itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take
captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.
The world and its
nasty prince are going to lie to us — but we don’t have
to take that. Not for a second! My wonderful brothers
and sisters, when you replace the Devil’s lies with the
Word of God, you will be defeating the adversary’s hold
on your life one thought at a time. . . and it feels good.
Who are you going to believe? This spiritual fight is
a battle for our hearts. God has not left us weak and
alone -. we have armor to protect us, He is backing us
up, and we have a powerful weapon to attack! (Ephesians.
6:11-17) Our weapon is the Word of God. Whenever the adversary
shoots one of his lies our way, we have the ability, the
responsibility, and the right to back him down in the
name of Jesus Christ
James 4:7 says:
James 4:7
Therefore submit yourselves to God. Resist the devil
and he will flee from you.
Let’s resist that
sneaky sleaze ball with some powerful “It is Written.”
Here’s what we say:
I am a winner.
II Corinthians. 2:14
Now thanks be to God who
always leads us in triumph in Christ, and through us
diffuses the fragrance of His knowledge in every place.
I am a success.
Romans 8:37:
In all these things we are more than conquerors through
him that loved us.
I am gorgeous.
Psalm 139:14
I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully
made.
Besides...
Proverbs 31:30
Favor is deceitful, and beauty is vain: but a woman
who fears the LORD, she shall be praised.
I do things well.
II Corinthians. 9:8
And God is able to make all grace abound toward you,
that you, always having all sufficiency in all things,
may have abundance for every good work.
I am smart.
Proverbs. 1:7
The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge:
but fools despise wisdom and instruction.
I am important.
I Thessalonians. 2:12b
...live lives worthy of God, who calls you into his
kingdom and glory.
I love you guys.
You’re the BEST! Be strong in the Lord and the power of
his might!
