SOUNDING OUT:
Know God’s Word; Believe God’s Word; Confess God’s Word; Receive God’s Word. (Part 2 of 2)

We saw last week in Part I that if we want power in our lives, we say what the Word says. Confession of the Word yields receipt of confession. If we confess with our mouths at the same time that we confess in our hearts what the Word says, we will have power. Our prayers will be answered as we apply these keys in our lives by doing as it says in God’s Word. The law of believing allows us to appropriate God’s power in our lives. That requires that we get our mouths and hearts coordinated on something that is confirmed by the Word. Then we will have power with God.

We saw last week in Part I how Jesus Christ demonstrated and taught the law of believing to his disciples twice within a period of about an hour. We saw that there were two incidents involving fig trees and that Jesus used both to establish the law of believing for his disciples, demonstrating it as he lived and following up with teaching so his disciples would not miss the import and impact of this great truth.

We can live as more than a conqueror in our day and time as we speak to our mountains with the authority of a son of God with all power. If you stand upon the Word of God and you confess that Word, you become what the Word of God says. That synchronizes our lives with God’s Word.

Romans tells us how powerful God's children are.

Romans 8:31-37:
What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?
32 He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things?
33 Who shall lay any thing to the charge of God's elect? It is God that justifieth.
34 Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us.
35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?
36 As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.
37 Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.

God has already proven His love in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. (Romans 5:8) God is for us! Who can be against us? Who can lay anything to our charge? Who can condemn us? Our answer is important! What do we do when tribulation, distress, persecution, etc arise?

The question posed in verse 31 is not: “What do you think about these things?” or “What do you believe about these things?” It’s not even, “What are you going to do about these things?” The question is, “What shall we then say to these things?” What do we say? What do we declare? Does God’s Word come out of our mouths or not. We should respond unequivocally, “I am more than a conqueror through Him who loved me.” No matter what mountain comes into our path, we proceed to the higher ground of God’s Word by saying what God’s Word says.

Romans 8:38,39:
For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come,
39 Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Paul was persuaded. Are we persuaded? God wants us to be more than conquerors. This is the declared, confirmed Word of God. As we confess that Word, it becomes a reality in our lives. Don’t be defeated by satanic principalities and powers. Jesus Christ destroyed the works of the devil (I John 3:8), and we should do the same. When we are facing mountains, we speak to them. Since we know God’s Word, we should confess God’s Word, and act upon God’s Word. Let’s get our lives synchronized with God’s Word. Say what the Word says. Know it; believe it; confess it; receive it.

II Corinthians 4:13:
We having the same spirit of faith, according as it is written, I believed, and therefore have I spoken; we also believe, and therefore speak;

The evidence that we believe God’s Word is that we speak it. God’s Word ought to proceed from our lips. Remember Psalms 107:2? “Let the redeemed of the Lord say so.” When we know God’s Word we confess it.

Jesus was going to walk like hind’s feet and do the will of his Father. For the second time that morning Jesus demonstrated to his disciples how he operated the law of believing. He established this law with two similar miracles. He also followed up with similar teachings completely establishing for his disciples this tremendous law of believing which would be so crucial for them to operate in their walk with God.

Jesus had taught this principle before. These are not the only times. Remember the father whose son was grievously tormented. In Mark 9:23 he told the father, “If thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth.”

This simple, but ever so powerful, law of believing equips us to live as more than conquerors today. It hasn’t changed in our administration. What does it take to operate the power of God in your life? Believing!

I Thessalonians 2:13:
For this cause also thank we God without ceasing, because, when ye received the word of God which ye heard of us, ye received it not as the word of men, but as it is in truth, the word of God, which effectually worketh also in you that believe.

The power of believing or faith rests upon the Word of God not our ability to reason or think. When we acknowledge the divine origin of God’s Word, it will make a difference. The words of God are so much bigger than the words of men. They are tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times. (Psalms 12:6) God has integrity. His Word works, as He says it does. Know it; believe it; confess it; receive it.

Hebrews 4:12:
For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.

The law of believing is not a testimony to the magnificence of man. It is a testimony to God’s magnificence. He can and will bring His Word to pass as we believe. If God says something is available in His Word, it is absolutely available right now. Yes, Matthew 21:22 says: “And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive.” What does “all” mean? Is it with exception or without exception?

Don’t forget scripture build up. What does I John 5:14 say? “And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us.” “According to His will,” means according to His Word because His Word is His will. We get the confession of our mouth coordinated with what we believe in our heart and then synchronize both according to God’s Word.

The law or principle of believing is what allows us to live as more than conquerors in this world. Mark 11:23,24 capsulizes that great truth.

Mark 11:23,24:
For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith [according to God’s Word] shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.
24 Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.
We saw when we looked at the context of those great scriptures how Jesus Christ demonstrated and taught the law of believing to his disciples on two occasions within an hour and demonstrated it with two similar miracles. There was a very good reason why Jesus Christ acted as he did on these occasions. They were not impulsive acts. They were not misguided, irresponsible gestures. They were deliberate object lessons on the importance of the magnificent law of believing. Know God’s Word; believe God’s Word; confess God’s Word; receive God’s Word.

We can live as more than a conqueror as we speak to our mountains with the authority of a son of God with all power. What mountain do you need to move? What scriptures are you believing? What miracle do you expect to see in your life? By what authority do you do the things you do? Don’t be afraid to speak for God! You are more than a conqueror, say so!
