Walking In Resurrection Life
The
truth that God raised Christ from the dead has been a cause of
rejoicing for nearly two thousand years. Our Resurrection Sunday
service nearly doubled our regular weekly attendance. There seems
to be something thrilling about the resurrection that causes such
great celebration in God's people, and rightly so.
The
challenge for believers is to capture and maintain that excitement
on a consistent basis. The resurrection of Jesus Christ was not
just an historical event. It is an empowering truth that makes
a difference in our daily lives. It certainly made a difference
as Romans 10:9 and 10 became a reality in our lives.
Romans 10:9,10:
That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and
shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the
dead, thou shalt be saved.
10 For with the heart man believeth
unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto
salvation.
According
to Ephesians 1:19 and 20, the standard of the exceeding greatness
of his power that is available to us who believe, is the working
of his mighty power which he wrought in Christ, when he raised
him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly
places. We can walk in "resurrection power" every day
of our lives. Paul's desire as stated in Philippians 3:10 was
to know Christ and the power of his resurrection. Should ours
be any different?
I Peter 1:3-5:
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which
according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a
lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,
4 To an inheritance incorruptible,
and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for
you,
5 Who are kept by the power of God
through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last
time.
Our
hope will be about "as lively" as our appropriation
of "resurrection power" is "steadfast." How
good does it get? How exciting and fulfilling can life be?
God
has set the standard high. He has called us to glory and virtue
that excels. He doesn't tantalize or tease us by holding a promise
before us and then withholding its fulfillment. The heart of our
loving heavenly Father yearns to give. He coaxes and encourages
us in very way He can. He laid the path out in His Word, and challenges
us to pursue it.
        Want
some adventure in your life? Want to go where few have gone before?
Let's respond and walk in newness of life enjoying God's resurrection
power every step of the way.
