Dear Christian Believers,
Deceniber Greetings and God bless you in the powerful
name of Jesus Christ.
Many things have transpired since I last wrote
the November newsletter.
I have traveled to Columbia and Trinidad / Tobago to teach
and minister to the believers, and Wayne, myself, Sangat
Bains (India) and Juan Cabrera (Venezuela) were in Rockford,
Illinois on November 1-7 to teach a Weekend In The Word
on the topic of, “Our Faith Should Not Stand In
The Wisdom of Men, But In The Power Of God.”
Then the following week starting on Thursday November
11th - Sunday the 14th we had a series of Leadership Planning
Meetings. We are excited about all that has happened in
2004, and even more excited about what God has in store
for the believers in 2005.
Matthew 11:1-3
And it came to pass, when Jesus had made an end of commanding
his twelve disciples, he departed thence to teach and
preach In the cities.
Now when John [Baptist] had heard in
the prison the works of Christ, he sent two of his disciples,
And said unto him, Art thou he that should come, or
do we look for another?
John the Baptist was imprisoned
and he needed to hear from Jesus. He wanted to know for
sure and sent word by way of his disciples to ask Jesus
are you the one? Tell my disciples that they may tell
me. This was Jesus’ response
Matthew 11:4-6
Jesus Answered and said unto them. [John disciples]
Go shew [tell] again those things
which ye do hear and see:
The blind receive their sight, and the lame walk, the
lepers are cleansed, and the deaf hear, the dead are
raised up, and the poor have the gospel preached to
them.
And blessed is he, whosoever shall not be offended in
me.
These are the works of Jesus
Christ that John needed to hear once more. Shortly after
this John was executed by king Herod. Jesus adds in verse
6 that if his works do not offend you, then you will be
blessed. Scandolon is the Greek word
translated “offend,” and it means indignation
that so causes malicious gossip.
In Luke 7:21 is another record of this
incident and it reads
Luke 7:21
And in that same hour he [ cured many of their
infirmities and plagues, and evil spirits: and unto
many that were blind he gave sight.
Jesus not only told John’s
disciples he showed them y example, he demonstated the
things John wondered about. During our travels, and here
at home we have done the works of Jesus Chris. This was
true of my trips to Columbia and Tnn!dad as well as our
trip to Rockford, Illinois. We did what Jesus had foretold
of us in John 14:12.
John 14:12
Verily, verily, I say unto you, HE THAT BELIEVETH
ON ME, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater
than these works shall he do; because I go unto my Father.
I know I have used John
14:12 in several of my newsletters this year,
BUT we cannot hear or read it enough, because “faith
cometh by hearing and hearing by the Word of God” [
10:17]. If we’ll hear and read this verse enough times,
then maybe we’ll believe it, and do the works that Jesus
Christ did and greater. Jesus preached, and taught the
Word of God. When people responded by believing, they
had faith to be healed, and Jesus was able to minister
healing to them. We have done the same and so can you.
Let us grow up together in all that Jesus proclaimed we
are and what we can do ... Then, LIVE IT
and DO IT! Let us fulfill our mission
and calling to the Body of Christ. OK?
Love, John
