Dear Christian Believers,
God bless you and your families in the name of Jesus Christ
Tonight I will be teaching the Fellowlaborers
about being "witnesses." Jesus Christ
commissioned his disciples to be witnesses unto him shortly
before he ascended into heaven in Acts
1:8. We are his disciples today for our generation
or age. Therefore this command and commissioning is for
us. We are suppose to be witnesses. We are to be the ones
that witness to his resurrection, and tell people what
that means for all mankind, and every Christian believer.
In John
14:12, Jesus tells us that the believer shall
do the works that he did and greater. In I
Peter 2:21, we are told to follow in the
steps os Jesus Christ. What did he do? If you will read
the four gospels you'll find out. Besides all the good
works that he did, heal the sick and diseased, cast out
devils, fed the 4000 and 5000, raise the dead, Jesus made
GOD and HIS kingdom known. Jesus was the greatest witness
and witness-er of all time. He spoke what he knew and
believed, and he was fearless, loving and compassionate,
and he spoke the Word of GOD, and the truth to his generation.
John 12:47-50
47 And if any man hear my
words, and believe not, I judge him not: for I came
not to judge the world, but to save the world.
48 He that rejecteth me,
and receiveth not my words, hath one that judgeth him:
the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him
in the last day.
49 For I have not spoken
of myself; but the Father which sent me, he gave me
a commandment, what I should say, and what I should
speak.
50 And I know that his commandment
is life everlasting: whatsoever I speak therefore, even
as the Father said unto me, so I speak.
Jesus was a witness unto
his father, and Jesus faithfully spoke his Fathers words.
In Psalms 107:20 it says... HE
sent HIS Word and healed them, and delivered them them
from their destructions. People! Jesus is the
Living Word. If you read about the New
Covenant, Holy Communion, that is what GOD did.
He sent HIS only begotten Son (the Word) and healed
us, and delivered us from our destructions. Don't you
think it would be a good idea to tell someone about
it? Because GOD has watched over HIS Word, we still
have it today. We have HIS Words to speak. We also have
the recorded words and works of Jesus Christ to know
and to speak. WHAT shall I say is not the problem for
us, but our problem is, WILL WE SAY IT? Some
may say "I've been speaking the words of GOD
for years now, it's someone else's turn."
If this is really true of that person, I say "praise
the lord" but also ask the question, I didn't
know there was a retiring age limit, and if there is
where is it recorded and what is the age?
We've been encouraged for years to tell
people what GOD has done for you. Tell your story! When
does it ever get old for you to tell others how GOD
healed you, or delivered you from your destructions.
It doesn't, if you think about it. Every time you tell
someone about your GOD moments you relive it again,
and it seems like yesterday. Telling your story make
you feel good and the one you are telling gets excited
about it too. If you're going to witness unto the Lord
Jesus Christ it's a good idea to read, study and learn
about some of what he did. But telling your personal
story brings the word written in the Bible alive. Because
when you read about GOD healing men and women in the
Bible, and you've got your own present day healing or
miracle to share; all of a sudden the Word of GOD becomes
real for the person you're speaking to. I encourage
you to tell your story. Your testimony might just be
the thing that opens doors of utterance to speak the
Word of GOD and words of Christ, that will bring healing
and deliverance to many others. Sometimes in your witnessing
to others you come under attack by those who do not
believe your testimony or the Word of GOD that you share.
So what! People rejected Jesus Christ. That didn't stop
him. Abe Lincoln said of those that were hypercritical
of his story telling way to reach people, he said he
didn't care about them. When we get to the point in
our lives when we don't care what men think and say,
but are more concerned about what GOD thinks and says,
than we have arrived at a new level of freedom that
will strengthen you all the days of your life. BE
a Witness! And if you've been a retired witness unto
the Lord Jesus Christ, How about coming out of retirement.
OK?
Love, John
