Dear Christian Believers,
God bless you, with His abundance of truth
and grace in the name of Jesus Christ.
The doctrine and exhortation of God to His children is
to speak the truth in love one to another.
Ephesians 4:25
Wherefore putting away lying, SPEAK EVERY MAN
TRUTH WITH HIS NEIGHBOR: for we are members
one of another.
(“Speak every man
truth to his neighbor” is a quote from)
Zechariah 8:16-17
These are the things that ye shall do; Speak ye every
man the truth to his neighbor execute the judgment
of truth and peace in your gates.
17 And let none of you imagine
evil in your hearts against his neighbor; and love no
false oath: for all these are things that I hate saith
the Lord.
If we have the habit of
always speaking the truth to and about one
another we’ll sure save a lot of headache and heartache
in our relationships with people. The truth of God’s Word
keeps evil imaginations towards others out of your hearts.
God exhorts us to Love one another. Jesus told his disciples
to love one another even as he had loved them. Being loving
and truthful are bookends for the lives of the mature
in Christ.
Ephesians 4:15
But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him
in all things, which is the head, even Christ.
God has given us an abundance
of truth to grow up in and to speak one to another. The
word truth in verse 15 is the Greek word [aleethuo]
and it means: “to act truly, to speak or tell the
truth.” The truth always clears the air whether you
like it or not. It takes out the confusion and the evil
imaginations. The truth is where God lives and where we
must live if we are going to fellowship with Him and enjoy
His blessings. Paul confronted the Galatians with the
truth because he loved them and wanted them to get back
on the Word of God.
Galatians 4:16
Am I therefore become your enemy, because I tell you
the truth?[aleethuo]
How many times have we heard
the expression. “the truth hurts?” What’s meant
is, the truth is piercing to us when we are living outside
of the truth. Paul says to the Galatians: : Am I now your
enemy because I tell you the truth? The most loving thing
Paul could do for the Galatians was to speak God’s confronting
truth to them. They were out in left field. Perhaps there
are times when we have gotten angry at those that correct
us with the truth. We don’t like it and find reasons to
argue with what has been said. This usually starts out
with I know they are right or maybe right BUT and then
you list your reasons to argue against the truth spoken.
The truth of God’s Word is still profitable for doctrine,
reproof, and correction no matter how you want to argue
your case.
When I was a small child and I would cut myself,
my mother would get out the old brown bottle labeled,
“iodine,” WOW would that stuff sting when she
applied it to the cut. Sometimes the truth of God’s Word
is like that iodine, when applied to out of fellowship
with God wounds. We may not be too blessed at first,
but if we receive it in love, we’ll see the profit. The
purpose of God’s Word of truth applied or spoken is to
get us healed and delivered, and to protect us from further
hurt.
People, the field is wide open to speak the truth.
There are people in every nation, state, city, small community
and family that are hurting, not because someone told
them the truth, but because they have never heard the
truth of God’s Word and the gospel of Jesus Christ. There
are also Christians that are not manifesting God’s deliverance
in their lives. These things cannot remain or it is to
our shame. Let us renew our efforts to love our neighbor
enough to speak the Truth of God’s Word and minister His
deliverance to all men at every opportunity so they might
manifest God’s healing and deliverance.
Love,
John
