June 2003

Dear Christian Believers,
June God has truly blessed us through HIS plan of salvation, the Lord Jesus Christ.

2003 June 8th is “Pentecost.” the birth date of the Christian Church to which ALL Christian believers belong. Pentecost means “fiftieth,” and the number fifty signifies deliverance, rest, joy, and refreshing. Mankind’s day of deliverance had arrived, and this deliverance is available to All who make Jesus the Lord of their lives and believe that God hath raised him from the dead as declared in Romans 10:9-10. The twelve apostles were the first to experience the deliverance of the “new birth,” and it came on Pentecost. Acts 2 records this event and their response. They spoke in tongues the wonderful works of GOD, and then Peter stood up with the other eleven and gave the first sermon of the Christian Church, preaching Jesus Christ and his resurrection. The result, about 3000 souls were added to the Church. Before Jesus ascended into heaven he had instructed his apostles where they were to be, what to expect, what they were to do, and ... they did it. They were ministers and messengers of the Lord Jesus Christ, and became living epistles known and read of all men. Their Pentecost came 2000 years ago and they responded. Our Pentecost came when we accepted the Lord Jesus Christ and were “born-again” of GOD’S spirit. The only question is, “what is our response going to be and continue to be?” I Timothy 2:4 says that it is God’s will for all men to be saved and come unto a knowledge of the truth. If this is God’s will then it should be ours too, “Not my will but Thy will be done,” remember? Romans 10:17 says, “So then, faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God.” Also it says in verse 14b “... and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard?”... People, there are still those who have not heard or heard enough to believe, what are we going to do about it? The apostle Paul prayed and asked others to pray for doors of utterance to be opened unto him that he might speak the mysteries of Christ. When I lived in Florida I watched several “Space Shuttles” blast off to do and complete their mission. They would blast off when the “space window” was open for them to pass through. GOD has given us our window, a lifetime to move through the windows of opportunities HE provides. Let us not waste our lifetime of opportunity, and what GOD has so freely given us.

Psalm 107:2
Let the redeemed of the Lord say so, who He hath redeemed from the hand of the enemy.

Have you been redeemed? Has God recovered you from the captivity of the enemy? Have you been rescued? Are you thankful and blessed? Then, SAY SO!

Psalm 71:23-24a
My lips shall greatly rejoice when I sing unto thee and my soul which THOU hast redeemed. My tongue also shall talk of THY righteousness all the day long...

People, we have received much and have much to give, Pentecost did not end 2000 years ago, it just began. Let’s keep the fire of Pentecost burning and what God poured out to all who will to believe.
Acts 4:20 should be our cry ... “For we cannot but speak the things which we have heard and seen.” The true celebration of Pentecost is not a calendar date, or a special worship service, but it is in what we do and say day by day as active ministers and messengers of the Lord Jesus Christ.
Keeping the Fire Burning with you,

John
