Cherished of God,

Revival is the act of restoring something to life. Our English term comes from a Latin word, meaning, "to live again." Revival is a renewal. It happens when a new vigor, new health, new validity or new effectiveness is restored. It means to return something or someone to full strength.   It can be used to describe a rekindling of interest in something.    "Reawakening" or "recovery"  might also describe a circumstance in which revival has occurred.  It implies a situation in which passion has returned to an aspect of our lives.

Don't we all need revival in some area(s) of life? Any aspect in our lives in which the truth, or enthusiasm about the truth, has been allowed to go dormant, needs revival, "to live again."

God is always ready to work with us to energize revival. It's something that He and we do together He is the giver of all life and the reviver where active life has vanished. He is our restorer. He can inspire us to "live again" where we have become paralyzed into inactivity, lack of motivation or being frozen in fear.

Two fears that our adversary would love to trick us into are a fear to lead and a fear to follow. Our enemy tries to sell us the lie that we will never again hurt or be hurt if we avoid these scriptural roles of service. If he can deceive us into neither leading nor following, he has stalemated us into spiritual paralysis.

Where in your life do you need revival? Does your enthusiasm to share God's Word need a boost?

Are there parts of your body that need to be brought to full strength? Does your marriage need God's renewal? Does the unity of your earthly family need to "live again"? Do you need a restoration of God's abundance and prosperity in your life? Do you need a reawakening of forgiveness toward other people? Do you need a sense of recovery from unbelief and mistrust in God? If any of these are true, then it's time for REVIVAL!

Psalm 85:6-13
Wilt thou not revive us again: that thy people may rejoice in thee?
7 Shew us thy mercy, 0 LORD, and grant us thy salvation.
8 I will hear what God the LORD will speak:for he will speak peace unto his people, and to his saints: but let them not turn again to folly.
9 Surely his salvation is nigh them that fear him; that glory may dwell in our land.
10 Mercy and truth are met together;righteousness and peace have kissed each other.
11 Truth shall spring out of the earth;and righteousness shall look down from heaven.
12 Yea, the LORD shall give that which is good; and our land shall yield her increase.
13 Righteousness shall go before him; and shall set us in the way of his steps.

Psalm 138:7
Though I walk in the midst of trouble, thou wilt revive me: thou shalt stretch forth thine hand against the wrath of mine enemies, and thy right hand shall save me.

Psalm 19:7a (NIV)
The law of the LORD is perfect, reviving the soul,..

Why don't we add to our prayer list specific requests for spiritual reawakening, restoration of anything lost, and a fresh revival of bruised relationships?

Let's believe God for personal revival. He's blessed to give us the renewed energy, clarity and focus that we desire! He is Jehovah-Jireh, the Lord who sees and provides!

Let's believe God for family revival. We can allow Him to show us the path to emotional healing, restored communication, and a reawakening of forgiveness and love in our earthly and homechurch family.

Let's believe God for community, national and world-wide revival.

Luke 10:2 teaches us to pray that God will send laborers into the harvest.  That's our vision for our neighborhood, city, country and world!   Let's revive the world for Christ! And it all starts right where we live!

The church epistles teach us that we share a legal "identification" with Christ in his death, resurrection and position in the heavenlies. So, when God "revived" His Son, God also revived us in Him!

Romans 14:9a
For to this end Christ both died, and rose, and revived...

Let's claim our God-given REVIVAL in every aspect of our lives!
