July / August 2000

Dear Christian Family Believers
We are combining the July - August Newsletter into one this year.
It has been an extremely busy time with having the CFF Family Reunion and Youth Advance 2OOO so close together that we thought it best to do a combination letter. This years theme for the CFF Family Reunion was 'The Christian Family," and we had eight different teachers handling both doctrinal and practical issues concerning the Christian Family. We also had Ted Ferrell and other musicians from years past, plus new up and comers that entertained us on Friday and Saturday night.

We are especially thankful for all of the teachers, [both for the adult and children's fellowship 1 the coordinators of all the working crews, and for the preparation, set-up, clean up, and meal workers, etc. Another thanks to Ted Ferrell for organizing the "Joyful Jam" on Saturday night and for Cliff Adelman, Helen Sudduth, Dean Ellenwood, Fred Grant, and Sheila & Ken Lorence who also came to be a part of the Joyful Jam.

Sunday morning Wayne Clapp and I had the privilege to teach during the final session and we got to handle topics that were hot on our hearts. Wayne clarified once and for all our stand on the issues of adultery and fornication that both are wrong and are not proper conduct for the Christian believer. Wayne went to the Word of God and doctrinally set forth the Word's stand which is our stand. We are not judgmental to those that error, but we are saying that it is WRONG and we do not, and nor does God's Word approve this kind of behavior. We are ready to help those that have a problem in these areas, but will not condone it's practice.

I taught on God's will for the Christian Family. "Restoration and Recovery." I shared the record from I Samuel 30 about David and his six hundred men recovering their families after their enemy had stolen them. David asked God if they should pursue and if they would recover their families and in I Samuel 30:8 and 18 he received his answer:
And David enquired at the Lord, saying. Shall I pursue after this troop? Shall I overtake them? And He answered him, Pursue: for thou shalt surely overtake them and recover all.

And David recovered all that the Amalekites had carried away: and David rescued his two wives.

Our God cares about His family and He is in the recovery business, it started back in Genesis 3:15 when He set out to recovery His family and He declared His promise of the Messiah, Jesus Christ to come and rescue us. God was faithful through out the ages and was constant with His prophecies until Jesus Christ came and fulfilled all the law and the prophets and thus he made full payment for our redemption and salvation. God our Father cares about every tiny detail of our lives and when the enemy tries to rob us of what God has given unto us through His Son; His Word is the same as to David in I Samuel 30:8, "Pursue'." and recover all.

Youth Advance 2000 will be July 27th -30th and the theme is "THINK, SAY, DO." with a focus on the Book of Proverbs and it's message to the youth, plus many other scriptures from God's Word. The purpose and goal for the Advance is "God's Youth Advancing," in their personal growth, development, and fellowship with God and His Family. God's youth have been placed in the Body of Christ and need to function.
Our hearts are to help them see the vision of themselves that God has set before them and their importance.

We love you all and thank God for your lives and stand on His Word. Serving together in the Body of Christ,

John and Mary
