Dear Christian Believers,
God bless you in the glorious name of Jesus Christ our
Lord and Savior.
I was thinking this morning about how Christian
believers should be the most confident people in the world
because our God is a mighty God, a powerful God, and He
has given us power and life through his only begotten
Son, Jesus Christ.
I looked up the word “confidence”
in Webster’s Dictionary and he has several definitions:
- Faith or belief that one will
act in a right, proper, and effective way.
- Assurance in one’s ability
to succeed.
- The quality, or trust, or state
of being certain.
Do you believe that you
will act right, proper, or in an effective way? Do you
have assurance in your ability to succeed? Do you have
the trust needed to be, in the state of being certain?
I Corinthians 3:4-6a
“And such trust have we through Christ to God-ward:
Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think any
thing as of ourselves; but our sufficiency is of God:
Who also hath made us able [fully equipped] ministers
of the New Testament; …
The confidence we have is a “spiritual
confidence.” God has equipped us through His
Son, the Lord Jesus Christ. Some Biblical definitions
of “confidence” are:
- A fearless mind - bold to speak
all you think, to the open and frank.
- To have trust.
- A well founded trust on a solid
foundation.
- To undertake anything and endure
- a firmness.
When we believe Who
We Are in Christ, that we are sons of God, that
we are righteous, that we have authority in his name,
that we have liberty in Christ, that we have eternal life,
that we are justified and have peace with God. When we
believe that we can do all things through Christ who strengthens
with inner strength - THEN we will manifest the spiritual
confidence that is ours in everyday life. We are God’s
children and as children we need to be reminded “daily.”
This takes place when we read God’s word, fellowship
with others that can remind us, and by praying and sharing
your heart with God, and seek His involvement in our lives.
Psalm 27:1
The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I
fear? the Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall
I be afraid.
You can’t entertain
“fear” and BE CONFIDENT.
David says, “the Lord is MY light.”
He didn’t look for light any other place, God was
his light. “The Lord is the strength of MY life,”
David didn’t seek strength from any other source.
Psalm 27:8
When thou saidst, Seek ye MY face; my heart said unto
thee, Thy face will I seek.
If you are lacking spiritual
confidence, perhaps you need to ask yourself, “who
is my light and strength, and whose face do I seek?”
Get involved with God’s reminders and watch your
spiritual confidence grow.
Confidently yours;
John
